Doctors call HBOT the Next Generation of Brain Recovery

Good news for those suffering from traumatic brain injury (mTBI), concussions or loss of brain function from stroke - this article in the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons explains the mechanism by which Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) can promote brain recovery through neurogeneration, even years after the brain injury.

Specifically, HBOT "creates oxygen radicals, which stimulate healing mechanisms". It also "improves cerebral plasticity, allowing the repair of chronically impaired brain functions and improved quality of life in mTBI patients with prolonged post-concussion syndrome and in post-stroke patients".
